New York Police Department Det. Kevin Herlihy gave a thumbs-up to fellow officers Wednesday upon his release from New York-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center. On Tuesday, Mr. Herlihy chased a suspect into the subway station at West 145th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. The suspect opened fire, striking Mr. Herlihy in the arm, according to police.
