Injury reported in downtown Waterloo car accident
WATERLOO, Iowa --- A car collision Saturday night that initially appeared serious to bystanders resulted in only minor injuries to the three people involved.
Shakaeyla Scott, 20, of Waterloo, was driving a red Pontiac Gran Am GT northbound on West Sixth Street near the Commercial Street intersection around 10 p.m. when Arieon Clayton, 20, of Chicago, allegedly tried switching two lanes and collided with her, according to the Waterloo Police Department.
Scott's car rolled and ended up on its hood, according to reports. She was taken by ambulance to Allen Hospital.
Clayton's passenger, Janovia McGruder, 21, also of Chicago, was taken to Allen after complaining of pain, according to police.
Allen did not to give patient conditions, citing Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules, but police said all injuries were minor.
Clayton was cited for improper lane change.
