NOTEWORTHY
Gov. Chris Gregoire announced that she will sign the same-sex marriage bill at 11:30 a.m. Monday. Senate Bill 6239 passed the House Wednesday and the Senate last week.
FLOOR ACTION
A proposal that would let state hospitals see medical-malpractice claims before a trial passed the House unanimously. House Bill 2741 was requested by Attorney General Rob McKenna and is designed to decrease costs related to the suits by making it easier to settle.
House Bill 2363 would prohibit courts from requiring domestic-violence victims to disclose certain information, such as their residence, during specific proceedings. It also passed the House unanimously.
A proposal that would let counties create juvenile gang courts, House Bill 2535, passed the House 92-4.
Political committee-sponsored ads for or against ballot measures would have to name the five largest contributors under House Bill 2499, which passed the House 75-22.
