A mother who was left fighting for her life shortly after giving birth to her son has won compensation for a medical negligence injury claim .
In 2006 Kelly Sutton now thirty one, was taken into hospital for what should have been one of the happiest days of her life as she prepared to give birth to her son.
However the happiness was short lived, when shortly after giving birth Mrs Sutton was left fighting for her life due to the doctors who gave her the caesarean, failing to close her womb properly.

BP HAS reached an estimated $7,8bn settlement with businesses and individuals affected by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster that killed 11 people, removing one of three major litigation fronts over the biggest offshore spill in US history.
The settlement, the amount of which both sides said may increase, would be paid out of a $20bn trust set up to compensate spill victims, BP said on Friday. Lawyers for the plaintiffs said the accord, which must be approved by a judge, would resolve most private claims for economic loss, property damage and injuries.
The trust has about $14bn left, and victims’ lawyers noted that there was no cap on damages BP must pay under the deal. BP said if the trust was exhausted, it would pay additional funds directly.
"This settlement will provide a full measure of compensation to hundreds of thousands," Stephen Herman and James Roy, the plaintiffs’ co-liaison counsel, said. "It does the greatest amount of good for the greatest number of people."
