It all added up to the biggest single day at the state tournament in a decade for the Bulldogs.
Mediapolis stands in fifth place in the team race with 17 points, one point behind Perry.
Cummings, who is in his 35th season as head coach, summed up the Bulldogs' day in one word.
"Wow! All I can say is Wow! That would be awesome. We still have some big matches ahead," Cummings said. "I can't wait for tomorrow to come back and see what we can do."
Mediapolis will have four wrestlers in the quarterfinals, which begin at 9 a.m. today.
Advancing to the quarterfinals were freshman Cole Erickson (120 pounds), freshman Steven Holloway (152), sophomore Adam Drain (160) and junior Blake Beckman (170).
