Swimming on the opening morning of the NSW State titles at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, Rice made it safely through to the 400m individual medley final with a 4min.49.93s swim, in her first event since having shoulder surgery back in December, but immediately after the race spoke of the enormous frustration the injury is giving her, and of knowing it could ruin her Olympic hopes at any time.
