All lanes have reopened after a pair of collisions blocked all lanes on westbound Interstate Highway 580 for about a half hour in Oakland on Monday evening, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported at 6:23 p.m. at westbound I-580 just before the Interstate Highway 80 merge to get onto the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Officer Ralph Caggiano said.
One collision involved two cars, and reported no injuries; the other involved three cars and one passenger suffered a leg injury, Caggiano said.
A significant traffic alert was issued at 6:43 p.m., with all lanes blocked on westbound I-580 and one lane on westbound I-80 blocked, Caggiano said.
At 7:12 p.m., the Sig-alert was lifted when all lanes were reopened to traffic, he said.
The one passenger injured was transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland to be treated for a possible broken leg, Caggiano said.
Caggiano said it is unknown if anyone else was injured in the three-car wreck.
