It is something every child should learn and something every parent should teach. 8 minor injuries in school bus accident
Police say the bus carrying 18 students to Chimney Lakes Elementary School about 7:30 a.m. turned left across traffic when it was struck by the pickup.

Initially, no injuries were reported and the children were put on a backup bus to continue on to school, but that bus returned to the scene when some of the children began to complain of pain.
"Our firefighters went one-by-one through the children and found which ones were complaining of any injuries," said Jacksonville Fire-Rescue District Chief Darin Hooten. "They were moved out of the bus on backboards."
JFRD declared it a mass casualty event and at least four rescue units were used to transport eight pediatric patients to Baptist, Shands and Orange Park medical centers, all with minor injuries.
"We can’t speak to the final medical outcome, but it appears that they’re all goint to be OK," Hooten said.
Chimney Lakes' principal also assisted at the scene of the crash while the children were evaluated.
