Truck Accident Causes Traffic Delays on California I-15 - Truck ...
RANCHO BERNARDO, CA – There were major traffic delays Friday, Feb 11, after a truck accident closed a portion of a highway in San Diego County, California. A semi truck jackknifed and crashed on Interstate 15 near the suburb of Rancho Bernardo just as the afternoon commute was getting started. Accident in California claims lives of two Las Vegas children

Two children from Las Vegas died Sunday night in an accident on Interstate 15 near Baker, Calif., authorities reported.
Ariyana Daniel, 5, and her brother, Thurgood Marshall, 9, died at the scene, according to the San Bernardino, Calif., County Coroner.
California Highway Patrol officials said the children were riding in a 2012 Nissan sedan that struck the rear end of a tractor-trailer at 10:12 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 15. CHP officers said the Nissan, driven by the children's mother, was traveling at a much higher speed than the truck, which was climbing a moderate grade at about 25 mph when the accident occurred.
The truck was traveling in the center lane, apparently passing a slower-moving truck in the far right lane, which is considered the preferred lane for truck traffic, said CHP officer Heath Poulsen. Trucks, however, are allowed to move into other lanes to pass slower traffic, he said.
