Sufferers are demanding Justice Secretary Ken Clarke ditches his “abhorrent” reforms that would force them to pay two new fees.

Mr Clarke says the changes – which would affect anyone seeking damages for an industrial disease – are needed to halt the rising number of claims from drivers who falsely say they have whiplash.

The new rules would also mean if victims win their case they would then have to hand 25% of the compensation to their lawyer.
