Safety Awareness II Real Accidents, Real Stories

wumbus.com Safety is an integral part of any job. In this video we will follow the personal stories of workers who have experienced the life ...

Adding to the list ~ Tricia's Jaw Story

I have only one week left until I leave for Dallas.  My body is so ready for this surgery to be done.  Dr. Hang, my orthodontist, told me of a woman, from my area, who had her surgery this past Thursday.  I would love to already be on the healing end of this surgery.  A part of me wished that I could have gone in place of her.  Trade out.  Then, I was at church yesterday for Easter.  I realized that if I had the surgery this past Thursday, I would have missed Easter this year.  So, I am content that I chose to miss Mother's Day over Easter.  I am stressed out.  It takes a lot for me to admit that I am stressed.  I am not stressed over the surgery itself, although being under for 8 hours and how my body will respond to that, does worry me.  I am stressed over the number of things I need to accomplish before I leave.  I received a promotion at work, which is great and exciting.  I know I will fully enjoy my new position when I am able to work without having to prepare for being gone for a month.  It scares me that there is a possibility that my body won't be ready to return to work after a month because there is already so much to do just to prepare for that one month, let alone longer.   I have a list of all the things I need to get done before I leave and have been slowly checking things off.  I have so many people that want to help in any way.  Unfortunately, all that needs to be done, really can't be done by anyone other than me.  Then, on Saturday, on my way home from work, I got in a minor car accident.  REALLY!?!?!?!?!  I think it was a joint fault accident.  There was a police report taken and it is now up to the insurance companies to do their investigation and decide.  This accident was a really slow speed accident.  Normally, I would have just exchanged info with the other driver and then called my insurance company.  However, of course, I had to get in an accident with an unreasonable person who refused to show me any of their information.  WHY?!?!  Just adding to the list of things to do.  When I called my insurance company, I told the person I spoke to that I was having jaw surgery in a week, so any information that needed to be obtained, needed to be done this week.  I was assured that it would not be an issue.  So, I am stressed.  I have not been sleeping well because my brain won't stop.  I am looking forward to getting on the plane for Dallas, because at that point, if it hasn't been done, it isn't getting done!  I have been following the special diet Dr. Wolford recommends prior to the surgery.  I am hopeful that doing this will speed up my recovery.  It hasn't been as hard as I thought.  The first couple of days, I was hungry because I was still finding the foods that were alright for me to eat.  I have always been a label reader, so I am just looking for different ingredients to be obsolete from my diet.  I think I have attended more birthday parties in the past month than I have in any other three week period of my life.  That has kind of been a bummer because I like cake and ice cream.  I had gained three pounds going in to the diet/surgery period, knowing I was going to lose weight.  The weight was gone in the first two weeks and I assure you I have been eating... what feels like a lot.  My jaw has been getting worse.  I can't chew for very long without getting an incredibly tired feeling in my jaw.  It is not painful, just feels like my jaw has run a marathon.  The painful part is how the muscles in my head and neck lock down in response to the jaw being used. My teeth are prepared for the surgery.  I am including photos in this blog to show the spaces that were created to allow Dr. Wolford to easily cut through my upper jaw bone.  It also shows how far I can open, one week prior to the surgery.  The opening is less than I could open in December.  It has been progressively getting worse, but it has been a slow progression.  I am hoping I can get back to at least a two and a half finger opening within a year after my surgery.  I have also included a picture of my profile because I know that will look different.

Will rug doctor work on my heavily stained carpet?

To avoid telling you the story of my life, the carpet has ended up being a rainbow of stains, from dog urine, to juice stains, the works. It has so many different stains that are already dried out that it's crazy. I tried to clean them, but it was already too late (I wasn't here for the actual accidents). We hate it!

My husband is very skeptical about it. We can't afford a professional cleaner and we seriously need to get rid of all

I have 2 cats & 2 dogs. Naturally there have been accidents - urine, vomit, a kidney infection. Here's my story. So through all of the pet encounters, I was trying all the different products to clean up the messes. There are several specialty products

Personally, I was not all that impressed when I used the rug doctor on my carpet. I didn't think the water got that hot and the cleaner didn't get the stains out. I've gone online since I've used the machine and have read that ammonia or vinegar make

A short film where a rock grants a family's wish in a bad way, name?

I saw a short story and here is the premise:

A man (friend of the father) visits and gives his friends a rock that says grants any wish, BUT it only grants them in evil ways. He warns the family to never wish on the rock and then leaves. The family laughs at what he says and the son (who is young but still an adult) says, "I wish we had a $1,000" and they laugh and go to bed. The next day after the son goes to work, the son's
