    — Unemployment rates in Anderson County are at their lowest since December 2008, according to figures reported Tuesday by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce .

    Anderson County had the 13th-lowest unemployment rate in the state at 9 percent, a drop of .8 percent from the previous month.

    The statistic is nearly 3 percentage points lower than where Anderson County was in March 2010. Last year, the county’s unemployment rate was 11.9 percent, with more than 10,193 people unemployed in a work force of 85,309.
