Unemployment figures fall in Anderson, state
— Unemployment rates in Anderson County are at their lowest since December 2008, according to figures reported Tuesday by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce .Anderson County had the 13th-lowest unemployment rate in the state at 9 percent, a drop of .8 percent from the previous month.
The statistic is nearly 3 percentage points lower than where Anderson County was in March 2010. Last year, the county’s unemployment rate was 11.9 percent, with more than 10,193 people unemployed in a work force of 85,309.
