I am currently on workers comp. from an accident at I had at my work place. It is a pretty bad back injury that is going to require more then one surgery to fix (and the dr's don't even know if they can fix it with surgery)
I was just wondering what could happen with my claim, treatment and disability benefits if became pregnant. Could the insurance stop paying me benefits or even stop treating me? What if I can't recieve surgery for my injuries
If it costs my employer $20 an hour to employ me, I am trying to figure out how much goes to the government before I even see a dime.
Workers Comp and Unemployment is run state by state. You would need to check you pay stub.
Looks like Mario Batali can’t take the heat in the kitchen.
Us Weekly reported the celebrity TV chef and partner Joseph Bastianich settled a lawsuit claiming they denied to give workers portions of their hard-earned money.
The two agreed to pay $5.25 million to those affected.
According to the Washington Post , several employees of New York City’s Babbo and Del Posto restaurant filed the suit in July 2010 and alleged that Batali and Bastianich took at least 5 percent of their daily tips. They also said they were paid less than federal minimum wage and were not paid proper overtime salaries.
"Mr. Batali, Mr. Bastianich, and their restaurants unlawfully confiscated a portion of their workers' hard-earned tips in order to supplement their own profits," workers wrote in the complaint.
The class-action settlement could compensate up to 1,100 people who worked or are currently working at Babbo, Del Posto, Bar Jamon, Casa Monco, Esca, Lupa, Otto and Tarry Lodge since 2004. The settlement has yet to be approved by a judge.
